Provincial Integrated Water Security Program
The Provincial Integrated Water Security Program is an initiative of the Provincial Government aimed at safeguarding water resources and ensuring adequate safe water for its people & ecosystems.
Through increased access of underserved or unserved communities to safe water supply & sanitation services and more sustainable management of water resources to meet the current and future human, economic, and ecosystem needs of Negrenses.
Security Framework
A five-year (2019-2024) technical assistance project that aims to improve water security for vulnerable and underserved communities in Negros Occidental, Palawan and Sarangani. Safe Water, in providing assistance to Provincial Government of Negros Occidental adopts the Integrated & Inclusive Framework in crafting coherent solutions for ensuring water security which is defined as adequate services for all & sustainable resources.
Increased Access to Resilient Water Supply and Sanitation Services
Upstream stewardship contributes to downstream access to water and sanitation services through resilient water service providers supported by responsive LGUs. Household and private sector water consumers support a clean and green environment through responsible wastewater management.
Improved Water Resource Management
Sustainable water resources availability originates upstream, as processes drive change in the watershed. Active watershed and river basin organizations play a key role in water quality and quantity.
Strengthened WAter Sector Governance
Good water governance underpins the enabling environment for water security, with government agencies enabling service expansion through new policies, regulatory reforms and strategic investments.
