The Provincial Incident Management Team and Negros Occidental COVID-19 Vaccination Task Force receive the 1,600 doses of Sinovac vaccines for storage at the Provincial Health Office cold room, 9 a.m. today.
Negros Occidental Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, said that the vaccines will be deployed within a week to provincial government-run hospitals as the first priority. The first vaccine rollout for the province will be at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital tomorrow (March 11) with medical and health workers, as among the first recipients.
The vaccines were transported from the Bacolod City Government Center cold room to the PHO cold room. This is the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines for Negros Occidental, that is part of the initial doses donated by China to the Philippine government.
