A financing forum that focused on the response towards economic recovery due to the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic, was held at the Provincial Capitol, today, organized by the University of St. La Salle – Bacolod Graduate School.
Governor Bong Lacson, who was present at the forum, said that it is a fitting platform to explore ways on how the public and private sectors can help each other through effective and strategic collaborations, in looking for better ways towards economic recovery.
The activity introduced new lending programs for small and medium enterprises, local government units, community-based organizations, and agriculture sector. Gov. Lacson thanked the USLS Graduate School for leading the said forum, that provided vital information and guidance on how Negrenses can access the COVID-19 response of financial institutions such as Development Bank of the Philippines and Land Bank of the Philippines.According to the governor, hundreds to thousands of Negrenses from the sectors of agriculture, transportation, food and accommodation, construction and trade, among others, are gravely affected by the economic impact of the lockdowns and quarantine measures.
He added that the situation calls not just for decisive actions but also for innovative means to address the economic and health concerns.
