Escalante Barangays Receive P2.1M for Various Projects

Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. and Vice Gov. Genaro Alvarez, Jr. turned over a check worth P2.1 Million to the city government of Escalante that will be equally distributed to the 21 barangays of the city, in a ceremony held at Escalante City Government Center, yesterday.
The 21 barangays will receive P100,000 each to be used for their various projects.
Gov. Marañon said that more projects such as concreting of roads, some of which have already been started, are being implemented in the city, which is part of the provincial government’s thrust to develop the countryside.
Vice Gov. Alvarez said that more projects have been implemented in the city, particularly the livestock and poultry dispersal as part of livelihood program of the provincial government.
The check was personally received by Acting City Mayor Ester M. Ampil, in the presence of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Members and 21 barangay captains.
Also present in the activity were Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan, Executive Assistant to the Governor Nonong Verdeflor, Provincial Agriculturist Igmedio Tabianan, among others.
The provincial officials, in a dialogue, answered the issues and concerns of the barangays captains during the open forum, as part of the activity. /Capitol News
